 Topic:      Wholeness in Jesus 

Teaching: Jesus came so that we may have abundant life (John 10:10). Jesus went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil (Acts 10:38). Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil (1John 3:8). So, we can have wholeness in Jesus.  

We started these services in December 2014 and we have seen God answer several prayers for healing and restoration. We are thankful for His faithfulness to His Word.  

Let us examine this topic together during a time of worship, Bible study, and prayer.

Psalm 34:6 In my desperation I prayed, and the LORD listened; He saved me from all my troubles. 

Psalm 34:17 The LORD hears His people when they call to Him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles. 

Psalm 103:3 “He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.”

This is a time for worship and a Bible based discussion followed by the ministry team praying individually for healing.

About the Healing Services

The Waverley Baptist Church holds a Healing Service once a month on the first Wednesday of the month. This is a time to worship God, study what the Bible says about healing today, and pray individually for those needing prayer. Yes, people do get healed!

Who can attend? Just about anyone with a need for physical, mental, emotional or spiritual healing. At the Healing Service you can have someone pray with you to place your deepest problems into God’s powerful hands.

Does God heal? The Bible says in Psalm 103:3, “He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.” Jesus healed everyone who came to Him. Jesus’s disciples healed everyone who came to them for healing and Paul healed everyone on the island of Malta who were brought to him.

Further, God has made provision for healing today. Please note the following Scriptures:

“These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in My name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed” (Mark 16:17-18 NLT emphasis added)

“Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven. Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results” (James 5:14-16 NLT emphasis added).
